London is home to the largest Nepali community in the UK — students at UK universities, NHS-bound nurses, IT and engineering professionals on Skilled Worker visas, partners of UK PR holders, and families on the ILR pathway. Almost all of them need to evidence English at some stage, and the test rules are not obvious.
For UK visas — Skilled Worker, Student route, ILR, partner/family — the Home Office accepts PTE Academic UKVI, the Secure English Language Test (SELT) variant. Regular PTE Academic, even if you scored 90/90, is generally NOT accepted for visa English. UK universities, in contrast, usually accept regular PTE Academic for admission. The two tests overlap in format but serve different purposes — booking the wrong one wastes a test fee and a SELT centre slot.
A Nepali-speaking coach who has personally hit a perfect score and who knows the UK pathway nuances saves you from that mistake — and also saves you the awkward grammar-of-templates explanations in English. Sessions run in your London evening (3–6 PM London = Nepal evening), so you can work or study during the day.
