PTE Coaching for Nepali Students in London — Online 1-on-1 from Nepal (2026)

Online PTE 1-on-1 mentorship for Nepalis in London — preparing PTE Academic UKVI for Skilled Worker visa, Student route, ILR, or a partner/family visa, or regular PTE Academic for UK university admission. Sessions tuned to your London evening, taught by Smriti Simkhada (verified PTE Academic 90/90 scorer) from Nepal.

We'll tell you exactly which test variant you need before you pay any Pearson fee. Most London applicants get this wrong on the first booking.

Why Nepali students in London need PTE coaching

London is home to the largest Nepali community in the UK — students at UK universities, NHS-bound nurses, IT and engineering professionals on Skilled Worker visas, partners of UK PR holders, and families on the ILR pathway. Almost all of them need to evidence English at some stage, and the test rules are not obvious.

For UK visas — Skilled Worker, Student route, ILR, partner/family — the Home Office accepts PTE Academic UKVI, the Secure English Language Test (SELT) variant. Regular PTE Academic, even if you scored 90/90, is generally NOT accepted for visa English. UK universities, in contrast, usually accept regular PTE Academic for admission. The two tests overlap in format but serve different purposes — booking the wrong one wastes a test fee and a SELT centre slot.

A Nepali-speaking coach who has personally hit a perfect score and who knows the UK pathway nuances saves you from that mistake — and also saves you the awkward grammar-of-templates explanations in English. Sessions run in your London evening (3–6 PM London = Nepal evening), so you can work or study during the day.

London → Nepal time-zone slots

London is on GMT (UTC+0) in winter and shifts to BST (UTC+1) from late March to late October. Nepal sits at UTC+5:45 year-round. The sweet spot for live coaching is London afternoon, which lands as Nepal evening on both clocks.

Critical: PTE Academic UKVI vs regular PTE Academic

The single most expensive mistake London applicants make is booking the wrong PTE variant. Regular PTE Academic is for university admission. PTE Academic UKVI is for UK visa English. They are different products from Pearson and they sit at different centres.

Verify before booking. Confirm the current accepted variant and exact CEFR level for your visa or university route at pearsonpte.com/pte-academic/about/uk-visas-and-immigration and on gov.uk. Pearson and the Home Office occasionally adjust the SELT list and thresholds — don't rely on what worked for a friend last year.

Use cases for Nepali London candidates

Most London-based Nepalis we coach fall into one of these six pathways. The blocking pattern, the test variant, and the CEFR target are different for each — so the coaching plan is too.

Skilled Worker visa applicants

If you're moving from Student route to Skilled Worker, or sponsored directly into a UK role, the Home Office requires English at CEFR B1 across the four skills (verify the current band on gov.uk for your specific route). PTE Academic UKVI is on the SELT list and is widely used by Nepali applicants because of its fast result turnaround. We build a plan around the four-skill B1 floor — clean and consistent, not lopsided.

Student visa (Student route, post-Brexit)

Most Student-route applicants need to demonstrate English at CEFR B2 for degree-level study, with B1 minimum for some pre-degree pathways (verify on gov.uk and with your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies). For visa English you'll typically need PTE Academic UKVI from a SELT centre — even if your university accepts regular PTE Academic for admission. We coach both sides so you don't pay for two retakes by mistake.

ILR (Indefinite Leave to Remain) pathway

ILR applicants typically need to meet the Knowledge of Language and Life in the UK requirement — usually CEFR B1 in English plus the Life in the UK test (verify your specific category on gov.uk). For the English component, an approved SELT such as PTE Academic UKVI at B1 is widely accepted. Coaching focuses on hitting B1 cleanly across all four skills in a single sitting.

Partner / family visa applicants

Partners of UK PR holders or British citizens generally need to show English at CEFR A1 for the initial visa, A2 for extension, and B1 by the time of ILR (verify on gov.uk for your specific category). PTE Academic UKVI A1, A2, and B1 SELT versions are options for these stages. We support all three levels with the same instructor across the journey.

NMC nursing registration

Nepali nurses moving toward NMC registration need to evidence English to the NMC's standard. The NMC accepts certain English-language tests — confirm whether PTE Academic is currently on the NMC accepted-tests list and at what threshold by checking nmc.org.uk before booking, as this list has changed over time. We'll plan the right test variant once you confirm.

University admissions in the UK

Most UK universities accept regular PTE Academic for admission — usually 58–65 overall depending on programme (verify with your specific university). You generally do NOT need PTE Academic UKVI for admission — you need it for the visa. Many Nepali students sit PTE Academic UKVI once and use it for both admission and visa, which is the cleanest route. Confirm with your university that the UKVI variant is acceptable for admission too.

London PTE test centres (SELT)

For PTE Academic UKVI you must sit the test at an authorised SELT centre. London has multiple SELT venues, and other UK cities have backup centres if London slots are full.

  • Pearson operates authorised SELT centres in the UK for PTE Academic UKVI.
  • London-area SELT centres have historically included sites in Newham, Croydon, and central London — verify the current live list and exact addresses on the official Pearson SELT page (pearsonpte.com/SELT) before booking.
  • Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, and other UK cities also have SELT centres — useful if London slots are full.
  • Booking, ID requirements, and reschedule rules are managed through Pearson VUE — check pearsonvue.com for the current policy.

Centre availability and addresses change — always confirm on the official Pearson SELT page before booking travel or annual leave around a test date.

How online 1-on-1 from Nepal works for London students

Four steps from first message to test day. Most London-based UKVI candidates finish prep in 4–8 weeks depending on starting score and target band.

1

Free WhatsApp assessment

Send your last PTE score report (or your current English level if you haven't tested) plus your visa pathway. Within 24 hours you get a written read on which test variant you actually need, your blocking sub-skill, and a realistic week-count to target.

2

London-evening Zoom sessions

Sessions run on Zoom with screen-share and live PTE platform practice. Default slot windows for London students are 3–6 PM London (Nepal evening). We confirm timing per week so it works around your UK shift or study schedule.

3

Targeted enabling-skill repair

Every session is anchored to one or two enabling skills (Oral Fluency, Pronunciation, Grammar, Spelling, Vocabulary). For UKVI candidates the most common blocker is Speaking — Read Aloud and Repeat Sentence — and we drill specifically there until you're consistent.

4

Mock test + booking guidance

Before you book your SELT slot, we do a full mock under timed conditions. You only book the test when the mock score clears your target with a buffer — no wasted GBP 200+ retake fees. We'll also walk you through SELT centre ID rules so check-in is smooth.

Why work with Smriti

Three things matter when you're paying for PTE coaching from London: a coach who has actually scored at the top, who has seen your specific pathway before, and who builds the plan around what your visa or university actually requires — not a generic 79+ template.

Verified PTE Academic 90/90 perfect scorer

Smriti Simkhada has a verified Pearson PTE Academic 90/90 score — the maximum across all four skills. The scoring engine and task types are the same on PTE Academic UKVI, so the same coaching transfers directly to the SELT variant.

1,000+ Nepali students coached, including UK diaspora

Coached over 1,000 Nepali test-takers — across Nepal, Australia, Canada, the UK, and the Gulf. UK candidates come with a recurring problem set: confusing PTE Academic with PTE Academic UKVI, plus Speaking Oral Fluency penalties. We've seen both repeatedly.

Pathway-aware planning, not generic prep

Skilled Worker B1, Student route B2, ILR B1, partner visa A1/A2/B1 — each has a different blocking pattern. We don't push everyone toward the same target score. We build the plan around what your visa or admission actually requires.

Pricing for London students

All-in NPR pricing. GBP-equivalent shown for reference at typical conversion (rates fluctuate). Pay in NPR via eSewa from family in Nepal, or in GBP via UK bank transfer — both work.

1-on-1 mentorship (flagship)

Rs. 15,000 NPR (~£90 GBP)

Full course — score-report diagnosis, weekly sessions, mock tests, booking guidance. No per-session add-ons. Pay in NPR via eSewa from family in Nepal, or in GBP via UK bank transfer.

15-day group batch (feeder)

Rs. 2,500 NPR (~£15 GBP)

Structured intro batch — useful for first-time takers with strong English. Not the recommended path for visa-deadline UKVI candidates. Most UK students go directly to 1-on-1.

GBP equivalents are approximate (typical NPR-GBP rates 2025–2026). Final invoice confirms current conversion. Pearson PTE test fees and SELT centre charges are paid separately to Pearson.

Frequently Asked

What's the difference between PTE Academic and PTE Academic UKVI?+

PTE Academic is the regular product, used worldwide for university admissions. PTE Academic UKVI is the Secure English Language Test (SELT) variant that the UK Home Office accepts as evidence of English for visas — Skilled Worker, Student route, ILR, partner/family. The two tests have the same format and scoring, but PTE Academic UKVI is sat at authorised SELT centres with extra ID and security checks. Booking the wrong variant is the most common UK-applicant mistake — verify which one your visa or university requires on pearsonpte.com/pte-academic/about/uk-visas-and-immigration and on gov.uk before paying.

Is PTE accepted for the UK Skilled Worker visa?+

Yes — PTE Academic UKVI is on the UK Home Office SELT list and is accepted as evidence of English for the Skilled Worker visa, typically at CEFR B1 across the four skills (verify the current threshold for your specific occupation route on gov.uk). Note that you must sit PTE Academic UKVI at a Pearson SELT centre — not the regular PTE Academic — for the result to be valid for visa purposes.

Do I need PTE for ILR (Indefinite Leave to Remain)?+

For most ILR routes you need to meet the Knowledge of Language and Life in the UK requirement — typically English at CEFR B1 plus passing the Life in the UK test (verify your category on gov.uk). PTE Academic UKVI at B1 is one of the SELT options accepted for the English part. If you already have a degree taught in English from a recognised institution, you may be exempt — check your specific category before booking a test.

Can I take PTE in London or do I need to fly home?+

You can take PTE Academic UKVI in London — Pearson runs authorised SELT centres in the London area. London has historically had SELT sites in Newham, Croydon, and central London, with additional UK centres in Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, and elsewhere. There's no need to fly to Nepal to test. Verify the current live list of SELT centres and their addresses on pearsonpte.com/SELT before booking.

What time of day do you run sessions for students in London?+

The most comfortable window for London-Nepal sessions is 3–5 PM London time, which lands at 7:45–10:45 PM in Nepal (depending on whether London is on GMT in winter or BST in summer). We default UK students to that block. Later sessions (6–7 PM London) are workable in summer but get late on the Nepal side in winter — we keep those short and focused. We'll confirm timing per week around your UK work or study schedule.

Does the coaching cover the SELT format and centre check-in?+

Yes. The PTE Academic UKVI test format is the same as regular PTE Academic — same tasks, same 10–90 scoring engine — so the core coaching transfers directly. We also walk you through the SELT-specific bits before your test day: ID requirements (passport is the standard), the additional security checks at the centre, and Pearson VUE's reschedule and cancellation rules. Verify the latest centre rules on the official Pearson and Pearson VUE pages closer to your test date.

What's the refund policy?+

Honest answer: we don't offer a full money-back refund on the Rs. 15,000 1-on-1 mentorship. A 90/90 instructor's session time can't be reclaimed once delivered. What we do offer: transparent up-front pricing in writing on WhatsApp, no per-session top-ups, and the ability to pause sessions if you have to travel, change shifts, or wait for a SELT slot. If a coach promises a 100% refund if you don't hit your target, ask how that's funded — usually it's priced into a much higher fee.

Can I switch from group to 1-on-1 if the group batch is not enough?+

Yes. The Rs. 2,500 group batch is a feeder product — designed for first-time takers with a strong English base. If you finish the group batch and are still short of your visa or university target, you can upgrade to the Rs. 15,000 1-on-1 mentorship and the group batch fee is credited toward it. For most UK visa-deadline candidates we recommend going straight to 1-on-1 — the timeline pressure rarely allows for a sequential approach.
