Subclass 189 / 190 / 491 — pick your route

Same component-specific DHA English bands across all three subclasses; what differs is points-test arithmetic and where you live and work.

DHA component-specific English bands (post-7 August 2025)

The flat-79 rule is gone. PR points are now awarded against per-skill thresholds in Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. Superior English is still the strongest single PR-points lever after age and skilled employment.

AHPRA — Nursing & Allied Health

Nepali Nurses, Pharmacists, Physios — AHPRA Registration (Apr 2026)

From 23 April 2026, AHPRA's PTE Academic minimums are Overall 63 — Listening 58, Reading 59, Writing 60, Speaking 76. The Speaking jump from 66 to 76 is the headline — concordance research updated how raw scores map to required clinical English. Single sitting preferred; two-sitting combination allowed under floor-score rules within 12 months.

The 1-on-1 plan diagnoses your score report on session one and drills the exact blocking enabling-skill — Oral Fluency, Pronunciation, or Written Discourse — until Speaking 76 / Writing 60 are reliable on Pearson official mocks. ACS — IT & Software

Nepali IT Professionals — ACS Skills Assessment

The Australian Computer Society (ACS) assesses ICT qualifications and work experience against the nominated ANZSCO occupation (typical Nepali pathways: 261313 Software Engineer, 261311 Analyst Programmer, 263111 Computer Network & Systems Engineer, 261112 Systems Analyst). ACS itself does not test English — your PTE score is required at the DHA visa stage, where Superior English (L69 / R70 / W85 / S88) unlocks the +20-point bonus.

Most engineers stall on Writing 79 / Speaking 79 because day-to-day technical English doesn't exercise PTE's AI-scored enabling skills. Read the full ACS PTE breakdown for Nepali software developers: PTE for ACS skills assessment 2026.

CPA — Accounting

Nepali Accountants — CPA Australia Skills Assessment

CPA Australia assesses Nepali accountants from BBS, BBA, ACCA, and CA backgrounds against ANZSCO 221111 Accountant General, 221112 Management Accountant, and 221113 Taxation Accountant. CPA accepts PTE Academic at the Proficient band (L58 / R59 / W69 / S76) for the skills assessment. For PR points, Superior English (L69 / R70 / W85 / S88) gives +20 — often the difference under EOI ceilings of 65–75 points.

EA — Engineering

Nepali Engineers — Engineers Australia (EA) Assessment

Engineers Australia assesses Nepali Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Software, and Chemical engineers (ANZSCO 233xxx) under the Migration Skills Assessment. EA accepts PTE at L50 / R50 / W50 / S50 for the assessment itself. The visa stage is where Superior English (L69 / R70 / W85 / S88) decides 189 / 190 invites.

TRA — Trades

Nepali Tradespeople — TRA Skills Assessment

Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) assesses vocational tradespeople (carpenters, electricians, plumbers, automotive, cooks) against ANZSCO trade occupations. PTE Academic is accepted alongside other tests; the DHA visa stage applies the same component-specific bands as every other pathway. Most trades applicants cluster around Competent (+0 PR points) or Proficient (+10).

The 1-on-1 plan adapts to working hours typical for Nepali tradespeople in Australia — early-morning or late-evening Bharatpur slots that align with Sydney / Melbourne shift schedules. Send a WhatsApp on +977 982-523-5082 with your ANZSCO code and we'll lock a recurring window.

AITSL — Teachers

Nepali Teachers — Australian Teaching Registration (AITSL)

State teacher boards (NESA NSW, VIT Victoria, QCT Queensland, TRBWA WA) sit on top of AITSL's English standard. AITSL requires PTE Academic L65 / R65 / W65 / S65 for primary and secondary teachers, with Speaking 79 and Writing 79 in the same sitting for most state boards. The bottleneck is the Speaking 79 / Writing 79 stability under AI scoring.

FAQ

PTE for Australia — Frequently Asked

Do I need PTE Superior or Proficient for Australia PR?+

It depends on your EOI score. Proficient (L58 / R59 / W69 / S76) gives +10 PR points; Superior (L69 / R70 / W85 / S88) gives +20. If your points without English are 65–75, Superior is usually the difference between sitting on the EOI list and being invited. The post-7-August-2025 DHA points test is component-specific — there is no flat "79 in each" rule any more.

What is the April 2026 AHPRA Speaking 76 rule?+

From 23 April 2026, AHPRA increased the PTE Academic Speaking minimum from 66 to 76 (and Writing from 56 to 60), while the overall minimum dropped from 66 to 63. Current PTE thresholds for nursing and midwifery registration are Overall 63, Listening 58, Reading 59, Writing 60, Speaking 76. Single-sitting preferred; limited two-test combination allowed within 12 months under floor-score rules.

Does ACS, CPA, EA accept PTE Academic?+

ACS does not test English in its skills assessment — your English score is required at the DHA visa stage. CPA Australia accepts PTE Academic at Proficient (L58 / R59 / W69 / S76) for the skills assessment. Engineers Australia (EA) accepts PTE at L50 / R50 / W50 / S50 for skills assessment. All three pathways then face the same DHA component-specific bands at the visa stage.

Can I combine two PTE sittings to meet AHPRA, like the new combination rule?+

Yes for AHPRA — two PTE Academic sittings within 12 months can be combined as long as no individual component falls below a defined floor and each test was taken in the test window. ACS, CPA, EA do not generally accept combined scores; you need a single sitting that hits every required band. The 1-on-1 plan structures your retake calendar around whichever rule applies to your pathway.

How long to go from 65 to 79 with 1-on-1 mentorship?+

Most Nepali students who have already taken PTE once and plateau at 65–72 hit 79+ in 6–8 weeks of structured 1-on-1 work, given 5–7 hours of focused practice per week. The exact timeline depends on which enabling skill is dragging the score — the score-report diagnosis on session one decides the plan. First-time test takers planning Superior English usually book a 10–12 week preparation block.

Does Smriti coach in AEST/AEDT evenings?+

Yes. Concrete examples Smriti regularly runs: Sydney 6–8 PM AEST, Melbourne 7–9 PM AEDT, Brisbane 6–8 PM AEST, Perth 5–7 PM AWST. Sessions are scheduled around your shift, university, or family schedule — not the other way around. Toronto, Vancouver, London, Doha, and Dubai slots are also available for Nepali diaspora outside Australia.

Is the Rs. 15,000 1-on-1 mentorship the same product for every Australia pathway?+

Yes — same mentor, same Rs. 15,000 fee, same Pearson official mock practice. The plan changes by pathway: AHPRA candidates focus on Speaking 76 and Writing 60; ACS / CPA / EA candidates focus on Superior English (+20 PR points) where it unlocks an invite; teachers add Speaking 79 and Writing 79 stability. The 15-day group batch (Rs. 2,500) is a feeder; for any high-stakes Australia pathway, 1-on-1 is the recommendation.
