Introduction
PTE Nepal ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website and services at ptenepal.com.
Information We Collect
Personal Information
- Name and email address (via Google Sign-In)
- Phone number (if provided)
- Target PTE score and exam date
- Profile photo (from Google account)
Usage Information
- Practice question responses and answers
- Course enrollment details
- Browser type and device information
- IP address and general location
AI Assistant Conversations
There are now two question tools on this site, and they handle your question differently. The difference matters, so it is spelled out rather than summarised.
Ask (/ask) searches our own published guides. It does not write answers — it finds the passage of an article that matches your question and quotes it back to you with a link to the source. Where it does use a language model, that model runs on our own server. Questions asked here are not sent to any outside AI company.
Guru Aama (/search-ai) works differently. It writes its answers rather than quoting them. To generate an answer, Guru Aama sends the text of your question to a third-party AI processing provider (Google), outside Nepal. We send the question text and nothing else — not your name, email, account or IP address — and the provider processes it under its own terms and privacy policy. Because the answer is generated rather than quoted, it can be wrong; every answer carries a warning saying so, and shows the source passage it was built from.
Guru Aama answers from a fixed set of sources we choose: official Pearson and IELTS pages, official government immigration pages, and our own published guides. It does not browse the open web.
We keep a record of every question asked, and we keep it indefinitely.
For each question we store:
- The text of your question, exactly as you typed it
- Which guides were returned and how closely they matched
- Whether we were able to answer, and how long it took
- Whether the AI accuracy warning was shown to you
- An anonymous conversation identifier, stored in your own browser’s local storage so your follow-up questions stay attached to the same conversation. It is a random value, it is not linked to you unless you are signed in, and clearing your browser data removes it
We do not store your IP address with these conversations. We keep them so we can see what students actually need help with and improve the guides, and so that a wrong or unhelpful answer can be traced back to the passage that caused it.
There is no automatic deletion schedule for these records. If you want your conversations removed, email [email protected] and we will delete them.
Please do not type passport numbers, visa application details or other sensitive personal information into either question box. Anything you type is stored as written, and on Guru Aama it is also transmitted to that provider. If you need advice on your own case, message Smriti directly instead — that always needs a person.
How We Use Your Information

Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data. This includes using Firebase Authentication for secure sign-in, encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), and secure database storage. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following cases:
- With your consent
- To comply with legal obligations
- With service providers who assist in operating our platform (e.g., Firebase, payment processors)
- A third-party AI processing provider (Google) — when you ask Guru Aama a question, the text of that question is transmitted outside Nepal to that provider so an answer can be generated. Only the question text is sent. This does not apply to the /ask tool, whose processing stays on our own server
Account Deletion
You have the right to request deletion of your account and all associated data. To delete your account, please send an email to:

Email Notifications
If you have an account with us, or you subscribed to the weekly prediction file, we email you when a new PTE prediction batch is published — roughly once a week.
- What we use: your email address, your first name if you gave one, and your timezone or country — the last of these only so the email arrives during your day rather than in the middle of your night.
- How to stop: every email carries an unsubscribe link, and most email apps also show their own one-click unsubscribe button. You can also turn it off any time from your dashboard. Unsubscribing stops all prediction emails, whether you signed up through an account or the newsletter form.
- What we never do: we do not sell, rent or share your email address with anyone else, and we do not send it to third-party advertisers.
- Delivery data we keep: whether a message was sent, delivered, bounced, or reported as spam. We keep this to stop emailing addresses that bounce or complain — not to track reading.
We also send transactional email — a welcome message when you create an account, and a confirmation when you submit an enrolment. These come from [email protected] and are a direct response to something you did, so they carry no unsubscribe link. Turning off prediction emails does not stop them; deleting your account does.
Sending is handled by Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES), which processes your email address solely to deliver the message.
