There are a lot of PTE practice portals, and they all say their AI scoring is accurate. Here is what each one actually gives you, which three we recommend to our own students, and how to get APEUni, AlfaPTE or Gurully access through PTE Nepal.

Pearson Official Practice (myPTE)

We recommend

Pearson, the company that runs the PTE test

Platforms: Web, through your myPTE account
PTE Core: Yes. There is a separate PTE Core Scored Practice Test.
Free: Pearson's free prep area in myPTE includes a study plan, guided practice tests, skill videos and test-tip guides.
Paid: Scored Practice Tests (bought one at a time or in Bronze, Silver and Gold packages) and Official PTE Academic AI Practice, a time-limited pass with a large question bank and mocks.
Scoring: Pearson says its Scored Practice Test is the only practice test that uses the official PTE Academic scoring engine. You get an overall score and a score for each skill on the real 10-90 scale. Pearson still calls it an indicator, not a guarantee of your real score.

An independent AI practice platform

Platforms: Web, Android and iPhone apps
PTE Core: Yes, PTE Academic and PTE Core.
Free: Free practice with a daily allowance of AI-scored speaking attempts and a small number of writing scores.
Paid: VIP: unlimited AI scoring for speaking and writing, plus all mock tests, for the length of your plan. Scored mock tests can also be bought on their own.
Scoring: APEUni says it scores content, pronunciation and fluency with AI. It is an estimate of your PTE score, not a Pearson score.

Paid: Premium subscription in several lengths (10 days up to 90 days), plus separate mock-test plans.
Scoring: AlfaPTE says its instant AI scoring is similar to the real PTE. Treat it as an estimate, not a Pearson score.

Scoring: Gurully says its AI scoring follows each exam's official scoring pattern. It does not use Pearson's scoring engine.

How to use a practice app without wasting it

1Take one full mock first to get a baseline. Do not drill blindly.
2Spend most days on your two weakest task types, not full mocks.
3Take a full mock once a week, under real timing, with a headset.
4One to two weeks before your exam, take a Pearson Scored Practice Test to check the AI scores against Pearson's own.
5If your score has stopped moving for two or three mocks, get a person to listen to your Speaking and read your Writing.

Which PTE practice app is best?

For most students we recommend APEUni or AlfaPTE for daily practice, plus one or two Pearson Scored Practice Tests before the real exam. APEUni is strongest for daily speaking drills on your phone, AlfaPTE for a big library of full mock tests, and Pearson's scored test for the most reliable score estimate.

Is the APEUni or AlfaPTE score the same as the real PTE score?

No. Every third-party platform uses its own AI, so its score is an estimate. Pearson says its own Scored Practice Test is the only practice test that uses the official PTE Academic scoring engine, and even that is described as an indicator rather than a guarantee.

Can I buy APEUni, AlfaPTE or Gurully through PTE Nepal?

Yes. Message us on WhatsApp with the platform and how long you need it, and we will confirm the current plan and price before you pay. Prices change often, so we confirm them each time instead of listing them here.

Do these apps cover PTE Core as well as PTE Academic?

APEUni, AlfaPTE, Gurully, E2Language and Pearson all offer PTE Core practice. Make sure you practise the test you are actually sitting: PTE Core is a separate exam from PTE Academic with different tasks.

Is an app enough, or do I need a coach?

An app shows you a score. It does not tell you why your Speaking or Writing is stuck. If you have taken several mocks and your score is not moving, a free 10-minute assessment with the team of Smriti Simkhada will show what to fix first.
