PTE Cost in Nepal 2026: Everything You Need to Budget For

Self-Study Path

Students who attempt self-study often need multiple retakes. Each retake costs the full test fee again — USD 248.60 at Pearson's listed Nepal price. Structured preparation can help improve consistency, though your score ultimately depends on English ability, task performance, and official scoring criteria.

The biggest hidden cost is a retake. The fastest way to pass on the first attempt is 1-on-1 mentorship — it is built to get you to your Australia PR target in one sitting, which saves the full re-test fee.

Your Real PTE Cost in Nepal: a Total-Cost Worksheet

The test fee is only part of the story. Miss your target on the first attempt and you pay the exam fee a second or third time — so your real cost is the fee multiplied by how many attempts you need. Add up your line items:

Keep the two currencies apart when you add this up. The exam fee is charged in USD and your bank decides what it costs in rupees on the day. Coaching and travel you pay in rupees. Two attempts mean USD 497.20 in exam fees alone; three mean USD 745.80.

The math most people miss: every failed attempt means paying USD 248.60 again. That is why The 79+ Sprint is built to get Australia- and Canada-bound students across the line on the first attempt — so the test fee is the only fee you pay. See how The 79+ Sprint works.

How to Approach Minimizing Your Total PTE Cost

1. Consider coaching before your first attempt — retakes add significant cost.
2. Check for Pearson vouchers — Pearson occasionally runs promotions that can reduce the fee. Check pearsonpte.com before booking.
3. Book your test date before starting preparation — a fixed deadline can help maintain focus.
4. Use official scored practice tests — they're the most accurate way to calibrate your score before the real exam.
5. Choose structured preparation — systematic approaches can improve consistency.

The fastest way to avoid a costly retake is 1-on-1 mentorship — the plan is built around hitting your Australia PR target in one attempt.

PTE Academic in Nepal costs USD 248.60 (Pearson's listed Nepal price), and PTE Academic UKVI and PTE Core are listed at the same price. Pearson lists the PTE fee in Nepal in USD, so the rupee amount depends on your bank's rate. Is PTE cheaper than IELTS in Nepal?

It depends on your bank's rate on the day you pay. Pearson lists PTE Academic in Nepal at USD 248.60, so the rupee amount is whatever your bank charges for that USD payment. IDP Nepal prices IELTS in rupees: NPR 33,000 for IELTS on Computer and NPR 36,200 for IELTS on Paper. Check what your bank would debit for USD 248.60 and compare it with those two figures. Systematic preparation for PTE's AI-scored format can also help some students achieve consistent results with fewer retakes, potentially reducing total costs further.

Can I get a refund if I cancel my PTE exam?

Yes, if you cancel early enough. Cancel more than 14 full calendar days before your test and Pearson refunds the full test fee. Cancel between 14 and 7 days before and you get 50% back. At 7 calendar days or less there is no refund. Check Pearson's cancellation and rescheduling policy for the current rules.

How much does PTE coaching cost in Nepal?

PTE coaching at PTE Nepal is private 1-on-1 mentorship in 7-day, 17-day and 1-month plans priced for your country (current plans and prices), with one live session a day. The 1-on-1 program is a private mentorship with Smriti Simkhada — score-report diagnosis, custom study plan, and pathway-specific guidance for AHPRA, ACS, CPA Australia, Australia PR, and Canada PR. Larger consultancies and Kathmandu coaching centres vary in price; quality is uneven. Self-study is free but typically increases retake risk.
