Introduction
There are already plenty of PTE apps. Most of them do the same thing: a bank of practice questions, a mock test, and a machine that gives you a number. Our students download them, grind through hundreds of Read Aloud items, and then message us on WhatsApp at midnight asking why their practice score says 79 when the real test said 58.
That message is the reason PTE Sprint exists. PTE Sprint is the PTE Nepal app, coming to Android first. It is not another question bank. It is the part of our 1-on-1 coaching that used to live in scattered WhatsApp threads, email and browser bookmarks, put in one place on your phone.
Stuck below your target? The 79+ Sprint
Private 1-on-1 coaching, from US$99: pick 7 days, 17 days or 1 month, one live session a day on your time zone (Sydney · Melbourne · Toronto · London · Doha), a demo session included, and Coach-Until-Target on the longer plans.
This article explains what the PTE Sprint app does, what it does not do, who should use it, and how to pre-register so you hear the day it launches.
What Is PTE Sprint?
PTE Sprint is a free Android app from PTE Nepal, the 1-on-1 PTE coaching service founded by Smriti Simkhada in Bharatpur, Chitwan. The store title is "PTE Sprint: 1-on-1 PTE Coach", and the name says what it is for. A sprint is short, focused and has a finish line. So is good PTE preparation.
The app is for students who are serious about one score, usually a target for Australian PR points, a skills assessment, nursing registration or a university offer. Most of our students are already in Australia. Others are in Nepal or India, preparing before they leave. The app works the same for all of them.
Who built it
The same small team that runs ptenepal.com. There is no outside agency and no white-label template. Every screen was designed around how our students actually study: on a phone, between shifts, often on a train.
Is it affiliated with Pearson?
No. PTE Academic is a Pearson test. PTE Sprint is an independent coaching app and has no connection to Pearson. We use "PTE" to say what the app helps with, nothing more.
What's Inside the PTE Sprint App
Six things. We cut everything else.
1. Prediction alerts
Every week we publish a decoded prediction file, and every month a list of likely essay topics. On the website you have to remember to check. In the app you get a notification the moment a new file goes live. Students in Sydney or Melbourne no longer find out on Wednesday that the file came out on Monday.
2. The weekly prediction files
One tap opens the current week's questions, sorted by skill: Speaking, Writing, Reading and Listening. These are the same public files you can read on ptenepal.com. The app just gets you there faster.
3. A private chat with your coach
This is the core of the app. You get a private thread with the PTE Nepal coaching team. Ask a question, send a screenshot of your score report, or describe the task that keeps going wrong, and a coach replies. Enrolled 1-on-1 students get far more room here than casual users, because that is what they are paying for.
Chat has the safety basics built in. You accept simple chat terms before your first message. You can block a conversation, report a message, and delete your account and its data from inside the app.
4. Guru Aama answers
Guru Aama is our study assistant. On the website she has two modes. In the app she has one, and it is the careful one. You ask a PTE question and Guru Aama returns the matching passage from our own published guides, with a link to the full article. She does not make up answers. If a question is about your personal visa situation or a fee, she points you to a person instead.
5. Coaching plans and the free assessment
The Coach tab shows the 1-on-1 plans with the same prices as ptenepal.com, in your local currency. You can also book the free score-diagnosis call from here. The call is where most of our students start. A coach listens to where you are and tells you which two or three habits are costing you the most marks.
6. Coach posts
Short notes from the coaches: a pattern we noticed across this week's students, a reminder before exam season, a fix for a common Describe Image mistake. They sit in the app instead of getting buried in a group chat.
What PTE Sprint Deliberately Does Not Do
We get asked this a lot, so here is the straight answer.
- No AI scoring. The app will not give your speaking or writing a machine score.
- No mock tests. There is no timed full-length test inside the app.
- No question bank to grind. Apart from the prediction files, there are no thousand-question practice sets.
That is a choice, not a gap we forgot to fill. Pearson does not publish its scoring engine, so every practice-app score is someone's estimate of it. Some estimates are decent. Some are generous, and a generous practice score feels great right up until test day. Other apps already do machine practice well, and you can keep using them.
What those apps cannot give you is a person who hears your Read Aloud and says, "You are pausing after every comma, and that is where your oral fluency is going." PTE Sprint is built to get you to that person faster.
Who Should Use the PTE Sprint App?
Students in Australia working towards a target
If you are already in Australia and need a specific score for PR points, a skills assessment or registration, the app keeps your coach one tap away. You can study around your shifts and still get feedback the same day.
Students in Nepal and India preparing before departure
The prediction alerts and Guru Aama are useful from day one, even before you book coaching. When you are ready, the free assessment is in the same app.
Retakers who have plateaued
If you have sat PTE two or three times and keep landing at the same score, more practice questions rarely fix it. A plateau usually comes from one or two habits you cannot hear yourself. That is exactly what a coach in your pocket is for.
Common Mistakes Students Make With PTE Apps
- Trusting a practice score as a prediction. An app score shows you are improving. It is not a promise of your real result.
- Grinding volume instead of fixing habits. Two hundred Read Aloud attempts with the same pausing pattern train the pattern. Ten attempts with feedback break it.
- Collecting apps. Four PTE apps means four sets of notifications and no plan. Pick one practice tool and one source of feedback.
- Leaving predictions until the last week. Prediction files work best when you rehearse them across the whole month, not the night before.
- Studying without a target date. A sprint needs a finish line. Book the test, then plan backwards.
Step-by-Step: How Our Students Will Use PTE Sprint
- Pre-register now. Join the launch list on the PTE Sprint page. We send one email the day the app is on Google Play.
- Install and sign in. Sign in with your Google account.
- Book the free assessment. From the Coach tab. Bring a recent score report if you have one.
- Pick a plan that matches your test date. Short plans suit students who are close to their target. Longer plans suit bigger gaps. The coach will tell you honestly which fits.
- Turn on prediction alerts. Rehearse each week's file as it lands, a skill a day.
- Send your weakest task to your coach every week. One recording or one screenshot. Small and steady beats a huge upload the week before the exam.
- Use Guru Aama for quick "how does this task work" questions. Keep the chat with your coach for the personal feedback.
Tips for Nepali Students (and Everyone Else in the Same Boat)
- Time zones stop being a problem. Sydney and Melbourne are several hours ahead of Kathmandu. Send your recording when you finish your shift and read the reply on your next break.
- Ask in Nepali if it is easier. Our coaching team speaks Nepali, and many students explain a problem faster in their first language. Indian and Bangladeshi students are just as welcome, in English.
- Keep WhatsApp for quick scheduling. Use the app chat for study questions, so your feedback stays in one thread you can scroll back through.
- Watch your data. The app is light. Most of it is text, and the prediction files open on the web.
- Do not wait for the app to start. If your test is soon, book the free assessment on the website today. Everything carries over.
FAQ
Is the PTE Sprint app free?
Yes. It is free to download and use. You only pay if you choose a 1-on-1 coaching plan, and the app shows the same prices as the website.
When will PTE Sprint launch?
Android launches first on Google Play. We have not announced a public date yet. Pre-register on the PTE Sprint page and we will email you once, on launch day.
Is there an iPhone version?
Not at launch. Android comes first because most of our students use Android phones. If an iPhone version follows, pre-registered students will hear about it first.
Does the app give AI scores for speaking and writing?
No. PTE Sprint has no AI scoring and no mock tests. It connects you to a real coach who listens to your answers and tells you what to change.
Do I need the app to join 1-on-1 coaching?
No. Everything works on ptenepal.com too. The app adds prediction alerts and puts your coach chat one tap away.
Is PTE Sprint only for Nepali students?
No. It is for anyone preparing for PTE Academic, wherever they live. Most of our students are in Australia, from Nepal, India, Bangladesh and elsewhere.
Conclusion
PTE Sprint is a small app on purpose. It does not try to replace the test-practice apps you already use. It gets your weekly predictions to you on time, keeps your coach close, and makes it easy to start with a free assessment. Scores move because a person finds the habit that is costing you marks, and the app is built around that.
Want to be first in? Pre-register for PTE Sprint. If your test is soon, don't wait for launch. Book your free assessment today, or see the 1-on-1 coaching plans.
