• PTE Academic UKVI: USD 220. A separate booking for UK visa routes.
• PTE Core: USD 220. The test Canada accepts for economic immigration.
• PTE Academic Online: USD 220. The at-home version. Pearson says plainly that it is not currently accepted by governments for visa applications.
• PTE Home (A1, A2 and B1): USD 185. UK family and settlement routes only.

Pearson does not publish a taka price. Any page quoting a fixed BDT figure for the PTE exam fee in Bangladesh has converted the dollar amount at some past rate, and it may or may not have added charges. Read the total on the checkout screen, not on a blog, this one included.

What the money actually buys

• One full sitting, all four skills scored, at a Pearson test centre.
• An official score report on the 10 to 90 scale.
• Two years of access to that report from your test date. That is Pearson's window.

Receiving bodies set their own windows. Australia's Department of Home Affairs accepts English results for about three years for migration, which is longer than Pearson's two. Both statements are true at once, so read the rule for your own application.

• Coaching, mock tests and practice material.
• A rescore, if you want the result reviewed.
• A retake. A second attempt is another USD 220.

Paying a Dollar Fee From a Bangladeshi Card

Because the price is in dollars, the taka amount that leaves your account depends on your bank, not on Pearson. Two students booking on the same day can see different debits.

Most payment trouble we hear about falls into four patterns:

• The card is not open for international payments. Plenty of local debit cards are not, by default. Call your bank before booking and ask one question: can this card pay an online merchant charging in US dollars? If the answer is no, ask what they offer instead. Don't find out at the payment page.
• The card is not in your name. A parent's or sibling's card is the usual shortcut. The name on your Pearson account has to match your passport, and a mismatch anywhere in the booking is a reason for trouble on test day.
• The OTP times out. If money is debited and no confirmation email arrives, wait for the reversal. Booking a second time is how people end up holding two dates and one usable score.
• The debit is higher than the conversion you did at home. Your bank's selling rate and any card fee sit on top of USD 220. That gap is the bank's, and it is normal.

Keep the payment receipt and the confirmation email together. If an employer or a sponsor is reimbursing you, that pair is what their accounts team will ask for.

About agents who "book for you"

Some education agencies in Dhaka offer to book the test and take payment in taka. That can be convenient. It also means a third party holds your booking login. If you go that route, make sure the Pearson account is registered to your own email address and that you can sign in to it yourself. When a date needs changing at short notice, the person with the password is the one who can do it.

Rescore, Technical Review and Retake: What a Second Attempt Costs

This is the part of the PTE exam fee in Bangladesh that breaks budgets, because nobody plans for it.

Rescore

Pearson charges USD 160 for a rescore. The rules matter more than the price:

• You have 14 calendar days from score release to ask for one.
• The request and payment go through Pearson customer support by phone.
• A human expert rescores your entire test, not the one task you think was marked wrong.
• The new score replaces the old one, and it can go down.
• One rescore per registration, on your most recent test, and not if you have already booked another test.

Pearson publishes no turnaround time for a rescore. Anyone quoting three to five working days is guessing.

Technical review

A different service at USD 50. It checks whether something went wrong with your speaking audio, and it never changes a score. Pearson commits to an outcome within 15 business days. If a fault is confirmed, both the review fee and the test fee are refunded.

Retake

No discount. Two attempts means USD 440 in test fees before a single bus fare to Dhaka or Chattogram, and before the weeks of evenings that go into preparing again.

How the Bangladesh Fee Compares With Nepal and India

Nepal is also listed by Pearson at USD 220, so a Bangladeshi and a Nepali student carry the same dollar price and the same exposure to their own exchange rate. India is the odd one out: Pearson charges there in rupees, at INR 18,900 including GST, so an Indian student knows the exact debit the day they decide to book. • Booking PTE Academic Online for a visa. Same fee, same content, and Pearson itself says governments do not currently accept it for visas. For a student or skilled visa you need the test-centre version.
• Booking PTE Home to save USD 35. It covers UK family and settlement routes only. A university or a skilled visa will not take it.
• Booking PTE Core when your destination is Australia. Core is Canada's test. Australia runs on PTE Academic.
• Trusting a taka figure printed on an agency poster. It was a conversion on some past day. Check the checkout screen.
• Buying a rescore hoping for a small lift. The whole test is rescored and the score can fall. Use it only when you have a specific reason to think something went wrong.
• Booking the date before measuring the gap. A date on the calendar creates a deadline. It does not create readiness.

1. Confirm which test you need. Academic for Australia and most universities, UKVI for UK visa routes, Core for Canada. Read the requirement on the institution's or government's own page.
2. Write down your target per skill. Many Australian pathways set a number for each skill as well as an overall score. For skilled visas, Home Affairs uses separate bands for listening, reading, writing and speaking.
3. Measure where you stand. A free score assessment tells you whether you are three points away or fifteen.
4. Check your card. One call to your bank about international USD payments saves a failed booking.
5. Check your passport. Valid, in your hand, and spelled exactly as you will enter it.

Notes for Nepali Students Reading This

Our Nepali students pay the same USD 220 and hit the same card problems. The difference is the centre map: Nepal has more cities with a centre than Bangladesh does, so a Nepali test-taker is less likely to travel overnight to sit the exam.
